| Have you ever wondered what makes relationships work? In her first book, Suzanne Welstead reviews the key components of healthy relationships and how they help to build satisfying and rewarding relationships. Rather than focusing solely on intimate relationships, it is essential to examine all the relationships in one's life. Honesty, boundaries, self-respect, balance, negotiation and mystery all have a role to play in the creation of healthy relationships. This empowering book helps us all to see the potential within us to transform our relationships, and thereby our lives, by examining the most important common denominator in all of our relationships: ourselves. |
Author Bio: Suzanne Welstead is a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist, and a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. She graduated with distinction from both her Bachelor's degree in psychology at the University of Guelph, and her Master's degree in theological studies at Wilfrid Laurier University. In private practice as well as in her current roles as Counsellor/Therapist at the University of Guelph, Suzanne uses cognitive-behavioural, narrative and experiential approaches in her work with individuals, couples, and families. A practicing therapist for over ten years, she has been trained in EMDR and hypnosis. Suzanne frequently delivers presentations on communication skills, stress management, self-harm, anxiety, self-esteem, and body image, and has also published articles in the counselling field. She welcomes the opportunity to work with members of the LGBTQ community. Suzanne enjoys reading, dancing, travelling, and having fun each day. She lives in Guelph with her wife, Shelley, and their cat, Chloe. |
