Canadian Paleontologist Dr. Emma Sullivan has come to Nebraska to do fieldwork for the summer. In the hopes of finding a dig site worthy of discovery, she instead finds the fossils of a lifetime. Unaware of such similar finds around the world, she and her team of graduate students believe that there is something very unearthly about this discovery. Unbeknownst to Emma and her team, these newly found fossils not only have a mind of their own, but also a long awaited score to settle. An unidentified threat soon presents itself, preying on a defenseless and unsuspecting world. As death and devastation begin to escalate to levels unforeseen, Emma Sullivan becomes alarmingly close to the menace itself. Emma is soon thrust into a world of danger, as she becomes part of a small rescue team that must travel to the source of the threat in a perilous attempt to stop it. Along the way she learns the truth of betrayal, trust and survival and how the most dangerous predator of all was closer than she ever imagined.
